Just climbed Mt Fuji, Had to summit in one day as a storm was coming. I had only just reached the summit and while taking photos of the volcano crater the storm hit, very strong winds and really really cold it only took a few seconds to a minute and my fingers were freezing I could not bend them? How strange I climbed to the summit in a Tshirt and shorts now I needed to get into some warm water proof cloths asap, I could not see 5 meters in front so started to make my way down to the hut where I would spend the night, I was very lucky the storm was only at the top of the mountain? How can a storm be 50 meters above but not lower? So as I made my way down the weather was quite good and made it to the hut before the main storm hit, so did about 6 other climbers but there were over 30 climbers still trying to summit or get down they had it very hard and very wet. The climb started about 9am and not sure when I got to the hut? as I was happy to be there before the storm hit get out of the wet cloths .... and have a beer or 2..... something warm to eat, but maybe 5pm? could have been earlier or latter, there was still quite a lot of snow all over the mountain some places the Japanese had dug paths maybe 6 foot deep in parts so climbers could summit. Most photos on my camera these are from my tablet.
