Just finished reading Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business by Shark Tanks Barbara Corcoran. I love Shark Tank but never quite warmed up to Barbara. Now, after reading about her very down-to-earth life as a child (9 siblings & an amazing mom), how she started her real estate company with $1,000 & doggedly built it & then sold it 28 years later for $66 million--and then had to reinvent herself, I have had a change of heart. She is fascinating, innovative & brilliant. Also a genuinely good person, someone Id like to know. The way she creatively dealt with blows to her business along the way, & some real jerks (hello, Donald Trump), is especially inspiring. We need women role models like this!
