Just finished watching a a Hendrix docu.. not something I do too often as it leaves me feeling.. well unfinished and some what empty. I dont think there is any one I have come across who has influenced me more spiritually or musically than this gentle man. Apart from his later work with buddy miles and buddy cox under a Band Of Gypsies, which has to be in my mind the best live recording of all time (apart from a close second) The Who live at leeds.. A Merman I Should Turn To Be was the definitive song of my pre teens that quite literally blew my mind! The engineering and production on this track is just.. well sublime and every time I listen to it which isnt often enough takes me back to a time when the world in my eyes was full of dreams and awe. I think the only song that could follow from the same same album Electric Lady Land would be Rainy Day Dream Away.. almost Miles Davis Kind Of Blue.. What a contribution and in the mean same swipe what a loss...
