Just finished watching all of the episodes Roots, Roots the Next generation and Roots the Gift on the Entertainment channel on Freeview. Two things struck me, that I never noticed when I watched them all of those years ago. First, half of the cast of Star Trek appeared in them (Kunte Kinte was in fact Geordi La Forge!) along with stars like Marlon Brando, and second the use of the N word was prolific. They wouldnt make so much use of it if they made it now. How times change it was quite noticeable & shocking to hear now, but just normally accepted back then.
