Just finnished reading author Herman Lindqvist series about the Swedish history in 9 books with hundred of chapters and thousands of pages. If I have to say something on each book I would say: Book nr 1 (13000 B.C - 1520): Liked the Viking Age and when they traveld to the east and the west and also the midd 12th centuary and forward. Book nr 2 (1520 - 1611): Liked the early years of Gustav Vasa and his way to the power that he established. Book nr 3 (1611 - 1660): Even though Sweden became a Grand power here something didnt appeal to me yet the book is not less importent. Book nr 4 (1660 - 1718): Here I could read about one of my favorite kings, Charles XI and I also liked to read about the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire when Charles XII stayed in the country for five years. Book nr 5 (1719 - 1771): Swedish East India Company, Carl von Linné and the early years of Gustaf III were the only things that appeald to me here. Book nr 6 (1771 - 1792): Entire book is about Gustaf III and this part appeald to me. Dont know why but it really did. Book nr 7 (1792 - 1844): One of the exciting part yet it had a tragic ending for Gustaf IV Adolf and also a thrilling start for Charles XIV John (a favorite) before he came to Sweden in 1810. Book nr 8 (1844 - 1907): Annother thrilled part. Liked to read about Oscar I, swedish emigrants to USA, Swedes who took part in the American CIlvil War, explorer and adventurer. Book nr 9 (1908 - 1946): Even though this book had some glimpse this was my least favorite part. Maybe because I dont like to read about 20th centuary. Watching it on TV is one thing but to read is not the same. Yet it was fun exciting and interesting and I dont regrate a thing. If anyone wish to read this serie I recomend a summery version titled "A History of Sweden: From Ice Age to our Age"
