Just for the record, coming from a military background, I support the Common Core. As a result of having attended 11 schools in my 13 year public education and criss-crossing the nation numerous times, there are significant gaps. I was never allowed to take Geometry, World Geography, the U.S. History textbook I used in seventh grade in California, was the one they had used in La Veta for 11th grade . It had been branded as a government takeover and that it will limit what teachers can, and how they teach. It is not. Unfortunately most people choose to listen to news programs which tell them what they want to hear instead of listening and reading numerous sources. Simply by taking the words Common Core out of the question and describing what it does, most people support it....interesting....
