Just found these old photos from a trip to the midwest in 1998. On the way back to Seattle, my car broke down in eastern Montana. Fortunately, I was carrying my touring bike. I needed the bike, because the next town was 40 miles away in a rather desolate area. At least the weather was nice. And the car? The cost to fix it was more than the car was worth, so I donated it to the Custer County High School auto shop in Miles City and took a Greyhound bus home. Just one of my many stories...
