Just got asked this 3 times in the past 3 hours, so Ill just post it: How are fire whips made? Bear Claws method: Attach rope to handle, tie on popper, done. Karakas Method: Put steel cable in Kevlar rope, weld guard to handle, attach rope to handle, tie on fall and popper, done. Rizs method: Wait 3 months after getting paid, Attach rope to handle, add guard, Plait the core only once, Add fall and popper, done. My Method: Cut the Handle to custom length, Core the handle with both epoxy and rivets, drill out and attach at least a 3/8 bolt to handle, Add guard, measure, cut, and add custom length 6 plait overlay strands, add 4 plait belly strands, Secure plaiting with washer and nut, add steel shot and cable to a Kern-mantle Kevlar rope (DO NOT use Trick Concepts knit rope), add a smaller diameter rope, add another smaller diameter rope, and another, and another, and another to have a smooth tapered core, sew the core together and attach it with steel wire to the handle, plait the 4 plait belly, plait the 6 plait overlay, add a multi-stage fall, add a mono-filament fall, add a mono-filament popper, add grip and handle stop, and now you have the best fire whip design in the world.
