Buzzer & Crunchers on the Corrib There was excellent hatches of Chironomids and surprisingly a large sprinkling of Olives on the eastern side of the Corrib given the bright conditions after the last few days. Fish were feeding on the surface in and around Inishmacatreer and Ballynalty bay. Conditions were less than perfect for Olives but fish did rise to them in the bright sunshine with light variable breezes. Three of us landed 9 fish for 2 days, fish averaging over 2lb, best fish 3lb 10oz, with many more fish encountered. Crunchers, Hares Ear Nymphs fished near the surface, with Buzzer Pupae the most successful patterns. The fish we kept were full of Campto Buzzer Pupae and Shirmp. We also saw a few Mayflies over the 2 days. Things are looking good for the Mayfly. Cleere’s Angling Centre, 16B Clane Business Park, Clane, Co. Kildare.
