Just got back from Shaws/Star Market. I had a basket full and a bottle of wine and ended up in a line with a young lady cashier not happy to be there and it showed. I bought a prepared dish from the deli and asked her to rubber band it so it wouldnt come open which is common policy there. She visibly became upset and started throwing things in the bags. When the wine came up for check out she ordered not asked me to give her an ID. Definitely legal to do although very seldom happens there. I didnt have mine so told her her to keep it. She was gave me no apology but a great big smile. It dimmed when I told her to keep the rest of the basket too if she was that happy. Since there were cold cuts and freezer items they may have lost a bit money on that transaction. BTW I came home and emailed the store customer service officer. If shes still there next time, I will definitely be in her line.
