Just got back from the homeless outreach down on East Lancaster sharing some Christmas spirit- feeding, clothing and just visiting with a number of less fortunate people. Our entire family got to go-Robin, Clint and Chad-what a blessing it was for us! Robin and Clint served , but Chad and I spent time going around wishing people Merry Christmas, talking to people about their life and how they were doing, even let 1 person use my phone to call family in San Angelo to wish them Merry Christmas. After spending time with those people, opening gifts that we got for each other seems secondary[even though they were appreciated!] If you feel you have a void in your life-it may be that giving, sharing, and serving could help fill that! There are so many ways to serve-it could be visiting a shut in person, visiting those in nursing facilities, helping families that are in need[churches and schools are good resources to identify those], delivering meals on wheels, or possibly ministering to homeless types, etc. There are so many ways to serve and I have seen so many on here that do or have done so during the Christmas season but unfortunately it is a year round need! I really believe at the end of our time here on earth-your success or value to this world is not about how much material wealth you have accrued but it is directly proportional to the number of lives we have helped and touched! Life,like Christmas should not necessarily be about receiving- it should be about giving! I pray as you make your 2015 New Years resolutions that you include serving others to be one of your committed goals for this next year! Once again, Merry Christmas to those who have been a part of my life and my families life - friends are so important to us and we dont take that lightly! God Bless each of you and your families!
