Just got home from visiting mom and dad. CT results show the cancer has spread to his brain, stomach, and the other lung. Today was fairly emotional for dad, which isnt necessarily abnormal. He has up days and down days. But, a big part of his upset is because of his family. If this offends some of you, good. But I cant be nice about this. Part of living with cancer, regardless of how long a life you may have requires a good support system. Do you have any idea what that means????? That means IF you care about this man you suck up your bullshit pride and if you cant fathom making the trip to see him at least one last time, THEN YOU FREAKING CALL HIM!!! The fact that you cant pull your head out of your asses to show that you care shows rightly that you dont. Am I angry at this? Damn right I am, because he is my daddy and by God in gonna stand up for him. Do you think this is easy on mom, the kids and me? No, its not...but because we love him, we are gonna make sure that on his death bed he knows that!! BECAUSE THATS WHAT FAMILY DOES. Its not conditional, its not optional. And I will go so far as to say that if you are the family who wants to make excuses and not care, piss off, because I have no use for family like that. To the rest of the world following this, I apologize for this as I dont typically do this. But the lack of care from some people really angered me and felt they needed to know.
