Just got home from watching the movie EXODUS. Heres my take on - TopicsExpress

Just got home from watching the movie EXODUS. Heres my take on this. As many of us grew up watching the Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston, the new Moses played by Christian Bale took a more modern todays type of man approach. The focus of the movie was more to that of the special effects part then the story part as in the Ten Commandments did. Granted, the Ten Commandments took liberties as well by involving the characters and their women into the script where in this version, the women were much to do about nothing. They mainly placed all the action and reaction on the men and the men only. So big difference on those aspects. The next thing was, in T.C. there was a burning bush that never burned and spoke only, as the voice of God. But in Exodus, they too had a burning bush that didnt burn but, they added a little boy as the symbol to speak for God instead of the bush. Which, for the life of me, isnt written in the bible, so again, man took its own liberty on what he thought would be good in the movie and straying from the line of faith as the mark that should be instilled. Finally, Ramsies and his soldiers were held back by a pillar of fire, so that the Hebrews could make it across the Red Sea safely, but there was no fire. The hale, as well had no fire either. And it was a staff that was stretch out over the sea to part it, but in this version, he still had a sword. They kept showing Moses as a violent man with a sword in this version, but in the T.C. one, once he met with God in the mountain, he put his sword down and took the staff instead. He went totally non violent in the T.C. one, but in this one, he was still a non believing soldier that was having an identity crisis. Eh. I guess Hollywood wins and goes to show you, that people in todays era, have lost faith and make it up as they go along, instead of just believing in whats written. But who am I to judge. Good movie, if you just want to see a movie and dont care if its accurate. I give it 3 devils forks up and 1 burn in hell down. :) Im kidding, no Im not, yes, Im kidding. hahaha
