Just got off phone with someone who said they were from SDG&E - TopicsExpress

Just got off phone with someone who said they were from SDG&E Collections department. Reason for call was their service technician would be shutting off our Gas and Electricity for a bill not paid last month. Initially my wife took the call. After she shared the date and amount paid, she was told they had no record of the payment. There would have to be an investigation done on their end which would take 24 hours. The technician would be shutting off the services within the next 30 minutes. Seeing the call was stressing to my wife I intervened and continued the communications. After first getting his full name, department and good number to contact him, I discussed the same as previously discussed with my wife but, to no avail. After getting the individual to be as detailed as possible and verifying there was no way to stop the interruption of services (unless we paid $289.02 via Money Pac at the nearest Rite Aid or CVS Pharmacy, then calling him back at the number provided so he could call the technician and stop the interruption of services), I informed him I would go to Rite Aid and take care of this matter immediately . He sounded quite pleased as he insisted time was of the essence. So what do you think Mr. Edwin J Louis, Legal Shield Independent Associate did? Rush down to Rite Aid and pay the requested amount via Money Pac? Are you kidding me! Noooo! He got on the phone and called his Law Firm, just because he can. He was told to in no way make any attempt to pay and to contact the Utility Company as well as the Police Department. Meanwhile the Fraudster called back and I assured him I was in a long line at Rite Aid trying to get the Money Pac. Meanwhile my wife was on the phone with SDG&E who verified the communications were not from them and will be calling back to get the details for their internal Fraud Investigation Dept. Meanwhile I left the Fraudster on hold (Probably rubbing his hands and licking his chops in anticipation of another successful Sucker Payment). I eventually let the Fraudster know that no payment would be made at the advice of my Attorney who was on the other line and wished to talk to him. The next tone I heard was a dial tone. Imagine that....... How Rude!!!! Instead of stressing, worrying and being perplexed we simply pick up the phone and get the advice needed before taking our next Action, which could be very costly. Thank You , Legal Shield. now we really do live more and Worry Less.
