Just got off the phone with Werner Park (Sarpy County, Nebraska), and while we both agree the rain is going to stay away, we wanted to confirm that we will do EVERYTHING in our power to hold the race tomorrow as planned. We have the park reserved for the entire day, so come hell or high water, we will have a race! A timely decision will be made in the event that we need to delay the event tomorrow morning. A delay will only come about as a result of lightning, hail, or particularly violent weather at the time of the start, or leading up to the start that keeps the volunteers, timing crew & Werner staff from setting up in time for an 8 AM start. We will be on site starting at 4 AM tomorrow morning to begin setup and monitor any weather situations. Along with the help of the Werner Staff and the National Weather Service out of Valley, we will make any necessary decisions and update you via Facebook and email as soon as a decision has been made. As always, the safety of you, the runner, and our volunteers will be at the forefront of any decision we make. Rest assured, as fellow runners who are Born & Raced In Nebraska, we would never put you in a situation that we, too, wouldnt feel comfortable running in.
