Just got off the phone with the daughter of the elderly woman who was involved in the accident today. She has been admitted to the hospital and will need to stay there for a few days minimum. Turns out she is 90 years old and (to quote her daughter) a * tough old bird* :). The doctors say that she has a Broken pelvis, broken ribs, bruised lungs, a concussion and numerous scrapes, bruises, and cuts ( from all the broken glass)..The doctors are worried about her developing pneumonia due to the bruised lungs and her age so are giving her breathing treatments (?) and a variety of medication.. She will need to stay off her feet and be as immobile as possible for at least 3 months and will need to undergo physical therapy . But she is Alive and should make a full recovery ..Whew ! God was watching out for this sweet woman today! And yes, her SUV is considered Totaled according to the insurance company.. The daughter Thanked me for taking the photos of the accident scene with her mothers phone today as she said that will help (somehow). Glad to hear that as I was lectured by one of the firemen on the scene when I started taking photos ( until I told him Why and who I was doing it for)..
