Just got the call from the Corps giving permission for the Elk City Old Settlers Days Ride, Sunday, Sept. 8. Meet at Elk City (the town) ball diamond, ready to ride out at 10am. Will be riding western half of Elk River Hiking Trail heading toward Oak Ridge and returning to Elk City around 3pm. Pack a lunch. The western half of this trail has some of the same types of rock formations that we ride through on the eastern half in the spring. Call Jim Thomas, 785-633-4761 for more info.
