Just got to take this opportunity to recognize how significant a number of stripes have been in my life. A few minutes ago, Zach and I were working on a project. And right as we were completing it, I look down only to notice that my finger was covered in blood. Immediately, Zach gasped and said, Oh no, Mom! Thats not good. And realizing that its just my finger and not my whole hand; I keep moving and said, Why? And in panic mode, he said, Your blood thinners! And for a split second I felt that same sick constraint feeling that took over my life a couple of years ago. But I was so glad to be able to remind him that I no longer have to deal with that. We dont have to watch my every move. And at that moment I had to give God glory because had he not suffered the stripes upon his back for my healing, there is no doubt in my mind that the year 2012 would have held my obituary. Many said that I was lucky to have lived through those pulmonary embolisms that occurred at that time. But there was no luck involved...it was solely God! When I say that Ive been given another chance at life...I mean literally! And as long as Gods grace abounds...I will spend it living for him, trying to be the best Mom I can be, and enjoying every moment (good or bad.) Ive looked death in the eye, and will have to again one day...but until then...this life is not my own. And those stripes were suffered for me. Therefore, Ill let God use me however and give him all the glory!
