Just got word the Ziedler Project guitar has been sold! It brought $75K, it took more than 10 years to sell, through Rudys in New York, and will be headed to an overseas home. It took a number of years for this to happen This was an instrument that 14 of us archtop makers made for the benefit of our good friend and fellow luthier John Ziedler who succumbed sadly at 43 years of age to Luekemia. It was an honor to be part of this, and it symbolizes all the best aspects of being a member of the Luthiery community! and I want to thank and congratulate all involved. The funds will help Julian now 15 ,(Michelle and Johnss son) with his higher education ,I remember having Julian up on my shoulders when the instrument was first completed. Sometimes things are as they should be in the universe.. if you just give it enough time...Last time I saw John it was during one of the Healdsburg Festivals and he was in my shop holding court with some clients, cigar in hand! doing what he did best.I used to,love it when the phone rang and it was John wanting total clients, guitars, tools life etc... really miss him!
