Just had a quick beef and vegies & rice plata (I think it was supposed to be blackbean but it was fairly non-descript). Hoping it sits in the stomach well for the 2 hour bus drive up to 2,500 metres to Calama... where I believe the best place to be for the next two days will be in the hotel. Up to 40 degrees outside and down to -10 at night... its sounding like good advice to me! Looking forward to giving my mum a ring tonight and seeing if shes OK. I hope my brother Steve Winspear might have done that already and can send me an update?!
