Just had a visit from Shawn Hirst, the local Fisheries biologist. He currently has his trap nets out & is taking samples in Kinkaid. I have a picture of his helpers with beautiful 17 - 19 Crappie. These were all in a net up by Allen Island. Yesterday his 12 nets held a total of 90 Muskie! No monsters he said but all fat, healthy fish. They also found a 23 Walleye in the net closest to the dam. This all speaks very well for the populations & health of our fishery. Its obvious there are huge Crappie to be caught. Muskie fishing will be on for a while. Dust off those rods & reels. Im getting in more bait every week. GO FISHIN! :)
