Just had my first experience of visiting a CentreLink - TopicsExpress

Just had my first experience of visiting a CentreLink office! This was after a friend of mine pointed out that I may be entitled to Healthcare card because of the low amount of my superannuation pension. I emailed CentreLink and six weeks later they called me. Apart from the long time to get back they were extremely helpful and encouraged me to set up an online login which I did. Then they said for me to get full access I would need to front at an office and show my MDL. I went into the Midland office today and joined a line where the woman in front of me said after getting to speak to someone I would be asked to take a seat with the 50 or so people already seated and that the waiting time was at least two hours. Naturally I walked out now understanding why my 93 year old mum won’t go there when she needs to communicate about changes to her pension. One day I will have to go back there if I want a Healthcare card I guess bit in the meantime I will explore some way of doing business online without going there. I feel sorry for all you folks that have to go there especially as now that Abbott the clown is steering the ship he will make it even harder for you and also for me to work online.
