Just had the most hellish trip ever, and havent even reached Kathmandu yet...how come flight attendants are not given more powers to intervene when people start misbehaving. This family (with NINE children) insisted all the kids should be upgraded to business class. What followed was an hour long discussion with the flight attendants while ground staff were nervously running around yelling in their radio sets. Finally, the whole family deplaned, but this relief was short lived as they came back 30 minutes later, with their children in tow, seating them randomly in BC. All this delayed the flight for another hour and a half. When we were finally airborne, there was constant screaming going on. One of the kids locked himself in the washroom, and the mother was standing near the door yelling instructions on how to use the toilet. Then the food arrived and they spent most of the night eating. I have never seen anything like it and its baffling that Qatar airways allowed this to happen...
