Just had this clarification from the SPVA The Foreign - TopicsExpress

Just had this clarification from the SPVA The Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) previously had an agreement with the SPVA to refund overseas treatment and medical costs and arrange medical examinations on our behalf. With effect from 01/04/2013 the FCO have opted to withdraw this service. Pensioners must now contact SPVA directly for both approval for treatment and subsequent re-imbursement as we have no other overseas representatives, this also includes the arrangement of their own medical examinations. A letter informing pensioners of the changes in process was issued to any pensioners that had recently made a claim for overseas treatment costs, Leaflets were updated to ensure any new overseas customers/claimants be informed of the up-to-date procedure and a bulletin has been issued on the Veterans Website informing any interested veterans of the FCO withdrawal and the new procedure. Copies of the updated overseas Leaflets are also accessible within this website. However, this is only relevant to veterans residing within FCO countries as there are still five overseas pension agents, Departments of Veterans Affairs (DVA) that continue to deal with our War Pensioners in the following countries and do so independent of each other - USA, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. This clarification refers to the veterans residing in all FCO countries and not just Germany.
