Just had to share my long winded story on my flight experience last night with Spirit: As we were about to board the plane, Toni asked them before we got on if they could not serve nuts bc of me and explained my story. The flight attendant rudely replied and said, They deal with this every day, she doesn’t need to be taught what it is and what to do, and she knows how to do her job We asked them if they could not serve nuts and just make an announcement(like they did on the way down) just saying that if everyone could kindly refrain from opening any nuts due to the recycled air and she said again that She deals with this every day and she knows how to do her job very nastily. So we proceeded to board the plane and she only told a row behind me and a row in front of me that they couldn’t eat nuts due to someone in their row having an allergy, I got the a million questions/comments from the passengers on Well how do you even survive in school, Ive never heard of this before. Of course ignorant comments flew in from there from passengers but they got settled. Then we are in the air, and not knowing, a lady two rows in front of me, and two rows behind the lacours, pulled out a bag of nuts. We asked her to put it away and she did no problem because she innocently had no clue due to the fact that there was no announcement made. That whole problem could’ve been rectified if the flight attendants made an announcement stating there was an allergy on the plane. Anyways, I took 3 Benadryl, breathed into my sweatshirt and took my medicine. Meanwhile, Kaitlyn Meghan Rachel and Dean were in the first row, right behind the flight attendants seats. Apparently the flight attendants didn’t know that there wasn’t a sound barrier between them and the girls and they were laughing at me saying I was being dramatic and they weren’t going to revolve the whole plane around me and my condition and laughing at how much of an inconvenience it was, they kept on patronizing me and making comments about how there are peanut lovers on the plane and its an inconvenience to them. So the LaCours said something to her and they were like, “You do know this isn’t a sound barrier, I can hear you making fun of my cousin and shame on you. the only reason she’s making a big deal about this is because it is a fatal allergy, she can die so she has to be protected, it’s very simple to be solved and there’s no need for the unnecessary comments The flight attendant proceeded to tell them, Don’t question me and how I do my job, I know how to deal with people like this. Well, if she knew how to do her job, I wouldn’t have had to take Benadryl, nor have a whole plane ride that had no clue I had an allergy. There was an amazing guy who sat behind Meghan who was telling the flight attendant she was terrible for treating me like this and that she should be fired. He also spread it around the plane this way everyone started to know about my allergy through word of mouth. Needless to say, it was a tough plane ride and on the way out, the LaCours basically told her off, got her name, etc. Thanking God always for protecting me and for giving me an amazing family who is my voice when I am weak... If anyone would like to write a strongly worded letter, i have the address and information. Never fly Spirit unless you are a PERFECTLY HEALTHY HUMAN BEING because you will be a bother...
