Just have to share how things that happen arent just coincidence. I had such a super fun time with all the girls at formal, that I decided to head to Sluggers for a bit with them. My feet were hurting and I was ready for bed, so after a short while I said my goodbyes and started the short, cold, snowy walk across 10th St to the parking ramp, where I was parked on the third level. I had to excuse myself past a fairly large group to get to the stairs, while politely acknowledging but kind of ignoring at the same time, the compliments I got on how nice I looked without inviting more. Surprised and excited to pass two friends on the stairs, Danielle Wargo and her husband, Jim, and told them I was taking my tired feet and heading home instead of joining them. They took note of the fact that three of the guys from that group that was gathered at the bottom of the stairs had followed and passed me while I chatted with them. We said goodbye and I continued on, and one of those guys made brief conversation. I didnt feel threatened at all and he asked if I was alone and I told him my friends were back there and we he asked about our event since we were dressed up. Then unexpectedly I heard my name from behind, and it was Danielles husband Jim. I met him halfway and he held out his arm and said hed walk with me. We walked to my car together and he explained that he and Danielle just didnt feel good about me walking alone with those guys so close to me. To be honest, I hadnt felt unsafe. BUT, as Jim and walked and the car of those guys drove by and the one who had been speaking to me had his window down and told me to have a good night, I got chills. Theres a reason I ran into my friends on the stairs. Theres a reason I left when I did, and they both felt I shouldnt walk alone. Maybe nothing would have happened. But maybe something would have happened. I just know that I dont believe in coincidence and I believe God makes things happen the way they do. And I am thankful tonight for those friends.
