Just have to share something that I have been working on the last few days. As you all are aware from my many posts and pictures that we raise Golden Retriever puppies. This week I have been talking to a lady from Maryville TN that is the president of Wilderwood Service Dogs. This is a non-profit organization that trains and places service dogs with Autistic Children and other individuals with needs for a service dog. One of their most sought after dog is the Golden Retriever. I want to be able to donate a puppy from a future litter to this awesome service. The obstacle that I have hit is that the dogs both have to have hip x-rays under sedation to verify that their hips are cleared of hip displaysia. I am calling around and checking prices. It is expensive! I can afford to donate a puppy but putting the money up front for the x-rays is another situation. Anyone out there have a great connection with a vet that might be willing to cut the price since it is for such a great cause? Once the parents are cleared I will be able to donate from their future litters -so it would not be a one time donation of a puppy. I could possible donate a puppy from all future litters. I love the idea of being able to help out in this way. I am so blessed that I feel it is something I should do. Any suggestions?
