Just hit 100,000 fans. Incredible..... Long time followers will know the story. Some will be sick of it but its my story and I like telling it :) It started on a beach. Christmas of 2011 I moved home from Dublin having failed miserably with my first personal training business. I got part time work in Fat Freddys pizzeria on Quay street and moved home depressed, broke and lost. At 24 I had less money to my name than my 11 year old little brother. I was miserable and things were looking bleak. I remember walking up and down the beach for hours everyday tears in my eyes depressed and feeling hopeless. I took the only money I had, €200 I had earned in the restaurant and printed 5000 flyers advertising a fitness camp at the beach. I turned up the first morning and trained 5 clients. It had began! Everyday I would visualise things I wanted to do and goals I wanted to reach. Going through a rough time myself helped me recognise that weve all got our own stuff going on. I wanted to give people a place they could go and train in a supportive environment and get away from the harder parts of life. The fitness camp at the beach grew quick. Within a year Id opened my studio and signed a book deal. In the last year its only grown further with lots of work on RTE Radio and TV, seminars up and down the country, a bestseller and second book on the way and a role as national ambassador for Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Im so proud of the community weve built.Im an open book. I put everything out there and I do things my own way. I break the rules and try to be a leader rather than a follower. Its a scary thing at first to put yourself out there, your fears, failures, insecurities and vulnerabilities. But its the best feeling in the world when people resonate with the things you say. Ive got the best job in the world. I wake up everyday with purpose and go to sleep with a dream. When you start with nothing it makes you appreciate everything. 100,000 on Facebook is a little milestone Ive had in my mind for a long time. I want to be the guy who makes people believe in themselves. I want to make mental health something more people talk about and I want to change lives. To many people to thank for everything theyve done for me but Im incredibly grateful. Its only the beginning.... First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. - Mahatma Gandhi
