Add 1 pint of half and half Add 1 stick of butter----use real stick butter not shed spread or margarine salt and pepper to taste----usually 2 teaspoons of salt and one of pepper I let this simmer until melted...very low heat....must continue to stir....will stick....use a heavy pan if you can. I then add 1/3 block of Velveta cheese...this is your base cheese....cut it up in smaller blocks Let it melt and incorporate with the other ingredients.....everything should be nice and silky smooth Then for the fun: I normally put and additional 7 or 8 cheeses. However, there are 4 you really need to use. Sargento Cheese---See Mac & Cheese Picture Album for ingredient pictures. 4 Cheese Mexican (not taco)....this has 4 different cheeses in the same bag....you will need 1 bag of it.... I bag of colby/jack blend You can also add: a cup of the following if you want: Mild Cheddar Sharp Cheddar Mozzarella You need to make sure all of the cheeses are well mixes and semi melted...will look thick, but will be fine after you bake it.... Bake in the oven covered for at least 30 minutes at 350 degrees Then bake uncovered for 20 minutes at 380 degrees The one pictures has pan seared sliced beef smoke sausage mixed in the Mac & Cheese. You dont have to add meat or anything else you want to make it a nice comfy meal. Enjoy!
