Just left an interesting presentation about the new developments that are planned for Conway, Lewis Crossing and Central Landing. Interesting because NOTHING was said about the fact that the City of Conway will have to extend a bond issue tax for another 30 years to pay for this. Nothing was said that the City of Conway was to sell almost 200 acres in the center of Conway for a measly $6.1 million and put up over $20 million dollars to make the deal happen. Nothing was said that other developments that have happen in Conway the developer paid for any improvements that needed to be done. Compare that $6.1 million to the $3.1 million for 50 acres on Hwy 286 just east of where Lewis Crossing is going. The, what was it, $10 million that Baptist paid for there land just west of Lewis Crossing. And guess what, the City of Conway paid nothing for those deals. And especially interesting was the fact that there were NO questions allowed from the audience during or after the presentations. Of course you could ask questions from the individual developers after the presentation but then the rest of the audience would NOT have heard any negative comments or questions. Interesting indeed. Typical City of Conway control of the people and what is to be presented to them.
