Just look at this creepy guy. Even though Im hip deep in a movie challenge this month, Im sneaking in X-FILES episodes based on friends recommendations, and last night watched Irresistible. Its one of the unusual episodes with nothing supernatural or extraterrestrial - just a super-creepy guy whose fetish for nails and hair see him moving from desecrating corpses to making his own. Apparently he was gonna be a necrophiliac originally, but that got shot down by the network, so they just kinda hint at it (effectively). The guy himself was awesomely cast, and kudos to Gillian Anderson for some nice acting as she finds this case surprisingly unnerving. I also liked the lady who played her shrink. On the downside, I thought Bruce Weitz (Belker from HILL STREET BLUES) was a little over the top as a credulous FBI guy. Occasionally X-FILES just veers a little too colorful like that. Good, creepy times. Oh, and I loved that the Mulder originally shows up for the case expecting it to be nothing and just hoping to catch a football game while hes in town.
