Just now saw the call for donations to challenge the FAA SOI. I can see two main issues that could be hampering the proper funds from being raised. 1.) Publicity is lacking. There should be a pinned post on every multirotor group on Facebook with details on how to support until either the funds or raised or time runs out. Im very active on here and just saw this this morning. We need more eyes to get more involvement. If you are in other groups, please raise this issue and ask the moderator to create a pinned post. 2.) Clarity is needed on what happens if not enough funds are raised. I understand the target is $75,000. What happens if only $10,000 or $50,000 are raised? Does it just disappear with no action following? If there were an option such as Kickstarter or some other crowd sourcing campaign that I would have certainty that my funds will not be for nothing, I will donate $100 today. UPDATE: This second issue was kindly answered by Peter on the DPA site here: dronepilotsassociation/donate-to-legal-fund/ The summary is that if not enough funds are raised, Peter will take a poll to determine which group he should transfer the funds to. I will be donating $100 to the cause today and urge others do the same. I admin the UAV Photography Group (https://facebook/groups/UAVPHOTOGRAPHY/) and will be pinning this along with an interactive poll for our members to submit how much they have either donated or pledge to donate.
