I want you to meet Christopher Wishing and theres a very Special reason why. You see, he friended a friend of mine, one of the kindest hearted men you could ever meet, and then he began to criticize my good friends poetry. He raked him through the coals with a string of crude insults, telling him how horrible his writing was. His comments were degrading and out of line. HERE are a few of the angry criticisms Christopher Wishing doled out to an unsuspecting friend who was not seeking criticism; Have you reviewed your work? This is a prime example of the lack of attentiveness to the work. Again! If not stated before: I am a reader, who happens to be a poet (Professional, as I am paid for my work, and have performed in public venues.). Are your sensebillities, your sensitivities to growth stunted? If learning is not what you will seek, please be considerate enough to proof read your work prior to posting. . - - AND for another poem he critiqued with more hate; Where was this piece to go? It is flush with a myriad of metaphors that are independent of one another. . Endeavor to ascertain the facets of metaphor, which can be powerful with striking impact when employed with considerd insight. ...And proofread your work prior to posting, moreover; the general rules of grammar apply to poetry and should be adhered to. . ..And I do not like writing this much, on this phone! . What a hot load of crap that is. Christopher Wishing says he is a professional poet who has performed in public venues! . Well, woopty doo. We all read Shakespeare on the gymnasium stage in 3rd grade. The difference is, nobody else brags about it. So I decided to go read the poetry written by this critic with a holier-than-thou attitude who felt he had the right to troll the poetry pages telling others their work is terrible. Let me tell you, I quickly learned that hes a critic because he cant write a stanza worth the piece of paper its written on, himself. He wouldnt recognize artistic expression if it hit him in the face. The thought process of his poetry immediately reminded me of the thought process of Rocky Balboa after taking a beating (derp derp derp). . His poems read with expression equivelant to Arnold Schwarzeneggar in The Terminator saying, Ill Be Back. C3PO had more humanistic characteristics than this stiff. Artistic Expression is unique to each individual. Unfortunately, the only thing this guy knows is what he learned in a book. He doesnt have a creative mind, so he cant understand why every single poem does not conform to some exacting rule that a book tells him it must. If poets followed the rules, there would be no Shakespeare, there would be no Jack Kerouac. Every poem would be the same stiff rigid boring read, with tired metaphors used over and over again. There are no rules to Art. Did Van Gogh follow the previously set rules? Pablo Picasso? To Hell with the critics and their Ignorant closed minds. An artist creates to express themselves, nobody has the right to troll the internet giving unsolicited and off the charts rude criticism. .
