Just one game tonight in NIHL2 but an important one at the top end of the table with Swindon NIHL Wildcats taking on Bristol Pitbulls. Bristol got off to the dream start with goals from Adi Smith and Grant Richardson but the visitiors managed to get themselves into double penalty trouble and then within the space of 30 seconds, the Wildcats levelled the game up with goals from Logan Prince and Michael Stratford. Daniel Pettitt got a penalty for Bristol with two and a half minutes to go and the Wildcats made it three powerplay goals in the period with a great shot from ex-Oxford Shannon Taylor. 49 seconds into the second period, Jan Melichar shot in from the deep it make it a fourth powerplay goal. Matthew Thornhill scored to make it 4-3, but when Swindon made it 5-3 the game looked over, and they defended out the third period to make it a crucial win and leapfrog the Pitbulls in the table. Tomorrow is a big day, with five games in total in both the league and cup, and Stars have the chance to go top of the league getting a point or more against Cardiff.
