Just read Shelina Popat and Priti Patels side of The So Called Sonu Nigam Saga. Truly, I believe everyone has the right to promulgate their justification and defence. So do they! But to resort to such spinelessness, makes me feel sorry for them. Moreover it further motivates me to stand up against such arrogant and thankless so called promoters who think they do a favor on artistes by doing their concerts. We are privileged to be musicians and have a profession that is also our hobby. You cant beat that kinda bliss. Having been professionally singing for 37 years now, I have seen all kinds of people. 99% of the people we come across are in the same bliss. Like Rocky ji and Darshan ji, Naresh Oberoi ji, Yogesh Sharma ji, Abhinav ji, Moranis, Wizcraft, Percept, to name a few... They are in this profession to make money, but they also enjoy the bliss. Nobody feels he or shes doing a favor on another. Neither the artiste, nor the promoter. We all just enjoy the bliss. Unlike the unfortunate Mature Shelina, who works with someone who is apparently a regular visitor in the Nairobi prisons. For someone like her, she lost a friend like me..! All she could have done if she was really mature, was to come and sincerely accepted the discrepancies. By lying about my tech team, which is considered one of the best in the world (I can present email interaction evidences to the effect) , or me kicking a plate of fruits, (anybody who even slightly knows me, would know Im not capable of such awful behaviour), she only showed she has a long way to go to achieve that state what we call conscience! Also, people usually give away the truth when they are lying too much about it. Did you notice she said I kept her waiting before the show and only came out to leave for the show? Tell me, which artistes worth his salt, will mingle with people instead of preparing for a performance in his room? I take 6 hours to only prepare myself physically, spiritually, mentally and vocally to train myself for the marathon performances I give. So she expected me to entertain her in my room? Really? She also said I asked even my own people to leave my dressing room during the concert before my show. So? Doesnt that prove that the rule applies to my own people too? Doesnt all this prove my earlier accusation that they were overpowering and were more concerned about things other than my performance? And yeah... Dealing with my manager Mayur is being made a big deal out of. So who else would they have wanted to deal with instead? Mr Narendra Modi? I can go on and on.. And forever. They dont know perhaps who they are dealing with this time. My faith in the occult is too much to shy away from standing by whats right. At the same time, I could bow my head down in apology if I felt I goofed up. Lastly Im glad Shelina admitted she has learnt some lessons for the future. I hope besides all the lessons, she learns the biggest of all. Of humility and treating people with consideration and compassion. And not work with people who are capable of poisoning her relationships with people as malleable and flexible as me. And if she truly is as Mature as she said she is, this is the time to prove it!
