...Just read an essay by a SLU criminal justice professor on discarding pre conceived notions/prejudices about ex cons needing a second chance in society so they can be hired at places like SLU and lead productive lives. I thought his last line about non violent drug offenders in prison was brilliant and true. He wrote: we should save prison for those individuals we are scared of as a society, not the ones we are mad at.
