Just received my tagg tracker as a backup GPS for my rockets. This device uses cell towers (Verizon) to transmit current GPS location to tagg. It has phone apps (your phone doesnt have to be with verizon) or you can just use a web browser to view on a map where the tagg tracker device is located. I rented one in Fort Myers and really liked how well it worked as well as the phone app with map. It would be great if a vendor at NEFAR had a few of these devices to rent!!! Fully charged, out in the field, the tracker will stay active a few days. Since it is made for a dog, it is weather resistant. My understanding is that it only updates location every three minutes, which is fine by me. As the folks in Fort Myers do, I will be enclosing the tracking device in 38mm bluetube (bulkheads on both sides) with a kevlar loop on one side to attach to a quicklink of the ebay. The device is $99 with 3 months free service, then is $7.95 a month thereafter. Ill be bringing it to NEFAR in April if anyone wants to take a look at it or watch it in action.
