Just received this information about milfoil funding at the state level: Great news! Governor Hassan has signed HB 292. As you all know, HB 292 increases the fee on boat registrations by $2 for the specific purpose of controlling invasive aquatic weeds. Starting in 2015, our lakes, ponds, and rivers will benefit from additional state funding to help control milfoil. This accomplishment could not have been achieved without the efforts of so many of you. Fair Funding for Invasives Control worked with several key NH legislators, as well as the NH Department of Environmental Services, NH Marine Trades Association, NH Lakes Association, and of course our tireless coalition members to help HB 292 become law. We are so appreciative of all the time and energy you have put into this great cause. We know we aren’t alone in our passion to ensure NH’s water bodies are clear and clean for generations to come.
