Just saw Foxcatcher: This was an interesting interpretation of what I had only recently found out was a real event. With that in mind, some of my objections are made null and void, but Ill say that the film was good. I feel that motivations of some characters were difficult to follow, and there were a few moments I found myself more confused than intrigued. The cinematography is wonderful, and there are some pretty amazing shots as well. While the sport of wrestling isnt my forte, it looked like the cast was well rehearsed in the sport. Another feature that Im not sure how to feel about was the casting. Steve Carrell and Channing Tatum have been introduced as comedic actors, and its bizarre to see them in such serious rolls. But they are incredibly skilled at their craft and pull off the rolls wonderfully. Final Thought: I liked the movie. It wasnt my favorite, but it was good. Id recommend seeing it while its in theaters. 7.8/10
