Just sent this email to Tim Ingleton of DDC about the DTIZ - TopicsExpress

Just sent this email to Tim Ingleton of DDC about the DTIZ Development Tim, Good Evening I have a few concerns about the developments. As great as it is to see the council trying to improve the area through the latest developments I can also see a juxtaposition as to which your actions are knowingly or unknowingly prove to destroy the high street which is already decimated by lack of action and lack of investment from the DDC and DTC Combined As a survey revealed that the high street is the 5th worst in the entire country (I hope you are proud) I have a few question I would like answering as a tax payer under this council 1) Why are you allowing retailers who are already present in the high street move to the DTIZ like M&S and also allowing companies even enquire like Superdrug did and Boots enquired as well instead of active encourage non existing retailers to come to dover for example the Range, Wilko (Who I absolutely 100% know they are interested in space at the site but have been snubbed, Direct from the head of property at Wilko by you and Bond city) 2) Letting retailers Iceland move from the town to Whitfield yet again further damaging the town centre. 3) What is the council doing currently investment wise into the towns existing commerce space to encourage new traders and more employment instead of this development 4) Why when ever the council are challenged on any points about the DTIZ are you so confrontational, rude and condescending about the matters instead of engaging with the public? 5) What is the reasons as to why communication about any meetings is so poor and unprofessional when people are really passionate or excited about the project, it seems that DDC are either extremely naïve in behaviour or are deliberately making themselves the enemy by being so unprofessional about this whole subject. Now please I am trying to engage in active discussion with you here and I hope you are different from Paul Watkins and have interest in having the common decency in responding with dignity. I thoroughly look forward to a reply and if I hear nothing within 7 days I will call to chase up this email. Best Regards Nathaniel Richards
