Just sharing . . . Exclusive interview with Mlungisi Xulu TJ: Who is Mlungisi Xulu? Mlungisi Xulu: A normal South African citizen, as noted upon conclusion of the Open Letter. TJ: Are you an ANCYL member? Mlungisi Xulu: I do not see the relevance of the question, as I highlighted the capacity under which the letter was written. TJ: Do you have a post in the League? Mlungisi Xulu: From where I stand as a normal South African citizen, I have never had of posts in the ANC or its sub-organs, hence the question would have been beyond my comprehension even if I were somehow affiliated with the ANC. TJ: You mentioned Floyd Shivambu in the Open letter, what did you mean? Mlungisi Xulu: I was referring to Floyd Shivambu the suspended former Spokesperson of the ANC Youth League, an active but yet suspended member of the ANCYL. I made mention of his name as his behavior of retaliating against the ANC through his involvement with the EFF, is exactly what members of the ANC should guard against. This man was not expelled from the ANC, however suspended, and had he been loyal enough to the cause of the attainment of Economic Freedom in our life time and that of land expropriation and its redistribution, he would have remained within the ANC, served his sentence, as these are both resolutions that were made and hence advocated for by the ANC. In essence, the only reliable vehicle, entrusted to deliver us to the resolutions realization, is the ANC, as it owns the resolutions. Mind you, resolutions owned by Leagues and other sub-organs of the ANC are communicated to the ANC, discussed, analyzed and if adopted, in-turn they become resolutions of the ANC. TJ: What do you think about Julius Malema and the EFF? Mlungisi Xulu: I have said this before, and I reiterate that, Julius Malema is a rare breed moulded by the ANC, hence owing his existence politically to the ANC. There was indeed a lot of good done and achieved, under his command as Leader of the ANCYL. For that, we as normal citizens of South Africa remain grateful, for good only perishes in the eyes of fools. My view initially upon the 5 year suspension of Julius Malema, was that he ought to have questioned himself of what the ANC meant through suspending him for 5 years, having the ANC fully knowing his personal profile. Five years to a school leaving Matric Graduate of Julius Malema’s high political capability means, 1 year bridging course at any South African University and 4 years of persuing a Degree of one’s own choice, thereafter come back to being effective in the structures of the Organization. Impatience, ill-advice, stomach politics and a relentless yearn for popularity, has deprived and robbed us of one good Leader in the history of the ANC. I don’t think about the EFF, all I gathered from its onset was the fact that it is a Reactionary Organization, founded on emotions, hence has no future as emotions fade with time. One cannot be angry forever, equally one can never remain happy continuously. TJ: Did you study Communications or the Arts? Mlungisi Xulu: No. TJ: What inspired you to write the Open Letter on Kenny? Mlungisi Xulu: I was inspired by his time-wasting Open Letter to the President. The mere fact that it was an Open Letter, equally wasted our time as normal Citizens of South Africa, hence given the fact that he has time to spare, I thought I should give him something to do as well, send him word-hunting on the Dictionary and tame his habits of unwarranted hostility towards the President and the entire people of Africa and South Africa. Talk about him, yet have him not comprehend the contents but his name ‘Kenny’ and that awarded to him by Cde Sifiso Johhny-Tso Msweni, ‘The Sushi-fool.’ People must know that the President is not elected by a bunch of failed Businessmen, whoonga turned cigar smokers. He is not and must not be a gambling tool, to feed at the yearning desires of perpetual prominency by attention-seekers. Lastly I did not pen the letter to him but about him, as he is insignificant to the cause of Revolution. The main characters are the addressee’s of the letter. However to Comrades of the MDM, I was appealing that all members must ensure that they enhance upon personal capacitation and be readily willing to defend the Movement from the Venom of populists and trumpet blowers. There is indeed high capacity within the MDM, hence my use of the word enhance, meaning to make to appear greater or better. I used the word Coterie as it refers to a group of people who often associate with one another frequently. Other analysis of the Open Letter’s intention were pin-pointed and highlighted below the main content of the letter itself or on the preceding publication upon my blog. TJ: What did you wish to achieve with your Open Letter on Kenny? Mlungisi Xulu: Similar sentiments as those that inspired me to pen the Open Letter. However, I have posted upon my blog a normal version for all other South Africans besides Kenny… Good South Africans, kindly do not show him (Kenny) the normal letter, as he must be preoccupied with the first one which is bombastically characterized. TJ: Do you think you have achieved that? Mlungisi Xulu: Certainly. Members of the MDM are well trained to perceive any communique of any form. As for Kenny, reading from his non-vocality, I am certain that all the girls slept early as Daddy was on a journey of word-hunting… TJ: Do you think the ANC is going through any problems? Mlungisi Xulu: There is a Spokesperson in the ANC, whom is tasked with the duty to communicate all imperative developments occurring within the Movement, hence I am not entitled to engage you upon matters of the ANC. But from where I stand, as a normal citizen of South Africa, there is no crisis in the ANC, and had there been a crisis, we would have all long heard as South Africans. Lastly, it is on record that this thing of break-away Parties does not influence the overall percentage outcome of ANC favoring voters in elections. TJ: Why did you refuse to write the letter in simple English? Mlungisi Xulu: I think the gist of this question is repeating itself. Furthermore, I did not refuse, this is a question of cheap media fact distortion. I had said that the Addressee’s would comprehend the Letter, but however in compensation of the fact that it was an Open Letter, I have simplified it for the General public, as said earlier. TJ: Do you use a Thesaurus or Dictionary when writing? Mlungisi Xulu: I was born clueless of anything, everything I know today is as a product of dedicating time to listening, reading, researching and learning. Therefore the Thesaurus and the Dictionary are both sources of word understanding, hence like any other person, who seeks a proper understanding of words, I consult with these books continuously and non-stop, as I harbor the intention of betterning myself over time. It is not an offense, because had it been a crime, all books and resources of a similar nature would be illegalized. TJ: What do you think about the Guptas? Mlungisi Xulu: This question is not clear of its underlying intent. I don’t think about the Guptas, all I know is that they are an Indian family of Indian descendant. Hence provided all legal procedures are followed of their being Citizens of South Africa, anyone including yourself is welcome to interact with and or befriend them, if needs be. TJ: What message would you like to send to President Zuma, in case he reads this letter. Mlungisi Xulu: President, you are protected by the people of South Africa. You were democratically elected to the portfolio of President by majority in Mangaung, and voted in to the State Presidency by South Africans in the 2009 General Elections, hence up until told otherwise by the entire people who conferred power on you, you remain a respected President of both South Africa and the ANC. TJ: Have you read the reactions to your letter on Twitter and Facebook? Mlungisi Xulu: Newtons third law stipulates that, for every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction, hence as I actioned the deed of penning an Open Letter, public is bound to react. Lastly I am not a major fan of both Facebook and Twitter, however I am a member of both, as is now a necessity in the life of nowadays. TJ: Do you know your letter has gone VIRAL? Mlungisi Xulu: You are terming around technological terms now, I feel equally left out. I don’t understand what is meant by that statement and particularly the term VIRAL, furthermore I remain uninformed as to whether that is a good or bad thing, hence I choose to reserve my comment upon that. But as a habit of good doing, I shall consult the books that are sources of word understanding. TJ: Do you work or you are still studying? Mlungisi Xulu: That is however a very personal question. The right to privacy is protected upon the South African Constitution, therefore in future I shall not respond to any privately indepth questions. However I am currently unemployed, uneducated and unenrolled by any Institution, hence I had sufficient time to nurse Kenny’s mess. TJ: What do you think about AGANG? Mlungisi Xulu: I do not think about AGANG, however I heard its a Sotho word meaning ‘to build.’ My advise to all our politically inclined Compatriots with intentions of entering the main theatre of Activism, is, one must have a clear mandate as to what they aspire to achieve. If one seeks a discussion forum, one must refrain and desist from further opportunism, therefore remain a forum Leader. An epitomal example of what I’m saying is the ANC, one of their initial and to date aim and objective is that of uniting all the progressive people of South Africa, Africans, Coloureds, Indians and Whites, for complete liberation of the country from all forms of discrimination and national oppression. Deducing from the above statement, why then would a person detour from people with such an objective, as Economic Freedom and the Land issue are both forms of oppression that were advanced by a certain regime, which was eventually defeated, hence the people were liberated. Therefore I fully believe that those who achieved the task of liberating people, as one of their two enlisted main objectives, will certainly be unstoppable in yielding the remaining objective. TJ: What is your Twitter handle? Mlungisi Xulu: Blackberry. LoL… @mluxulu
