Just so people understand....its sad but true. Believe it or not, not all livestock live. It makes me sad. Sometimes it makes me cry - but not always. Not every animal is destined to live forever. That doesnt make me a monster. It proves that Im coping with reality and that Im willing to experience extreme sadness in the hopes that Ill be gifted with extreme joy. Procreation is a wonderful thing. Its not 100 % and that goes for every species. What I find truly disturbing is that its necessary for me to inject my animals with all kinds of chemicals to keep them alive because of who knows why. They are soooo susceptible to parasites. I try my hardest and sometimes they just dont thrive. Yes I lay awake nights. Yes I spend $300 a year on a $50 animal and sometimes its not enough. Thats life and thats death. Put two animals side by side, feed them the same , vaccinate them the same and sometimes one will thrive and one will not. I wish they all thrived. Im usually partial to the underdog truth be told. A ceramic cow skull in a gift shop is considered art but a real one being sold to pay my bills makes people shocked and disgusted. Also, raising meat animals and raising fiber animals - thats two real different ball games. My doe that passed after giving birth was almost 8 years old. Raising a meat animal requires keeping them healthy for 6-24 months at most probably. Keeping them heAlthy for a decade is much harder. Anyway - most people dont understand how many things can go wrong. We try - we try really hard. Thats all. :)
