Just thought Id do a real quick list. my top 5 favorite movies from this year. #5: John Wick: Keanu Reeves gets alot of flak from people because they dont think he can act, but i absolutly disagree, especially with this movie. Fantastic use of big name actors, clever actions scenes, emotions you can feel without going overboard, great music, and great dry humor, Ill definatly buy this on Blu-ray when it comes out next year. #4: Lego Movie: I did not expect to like this. I thought, this is kinda dumb, but what the hell. Well i love being wrong like this because it was great. Fantastic face paced animation, great humor, interesting characters, and even a touching climax make for a good movie. #3: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Ok. I dont much like Michael Bay. I dont hate him, hes just not one of my favorite directors. but this year he impressed e. I enjoyed both his new Transformers movie and TMNT. I almost picked Trans4mor for this spot but decided to go with TMNT. Ironic i enjoyed it so much considering the initial backlash Bay got when some early details were released, and when Johnny Knoxville was annoucned as Leonardo. But my god, Bay ade something I wanted enough to get for Christmas and Knoxville is FANTASTIC as Leo. I even showed a few coworkers one of my favorite scenes and they were impressed as well. I even loved Megan Fox. Through a sea of hate making something great. #2: Godzilla. Some may be surprised this isnt my number 1, and i am too. Again, I almost did put it in nuber 1, but while i do defend the big mans lack of screen time, that and the main human cast kinda chipped away at me. Dont get me wrong i love the movie and have it on itunes, and a Blu-Ray and will watch it plenty in the next year, and cant wait for the squeal, as well at the Toho reboot in 2016, but it wasnt as good as it could have been. #1: Malifecent: I LOVED this movie, from start to finish. I always loved the character, back when all we had was the original sleeping beauty story. All the crao she does because she got stiffed an invitation just made me laugh and like her more, but Jolie from the first SECOND i saw the trailer, i was hooked, almost as much as i was for Godzilla. This movie is probably my favorite of the year and i plan on getting it on blu-ray in a few weeks.
