Just thought Id share this with you folks who still dont believe that Hmong people are not coming together as one. A soft story that made me believe again. On my first move up here in Minnesota in 2010. I was prepared for snow but not a snow storm. I had purchased a car with front wheel drive not knowing that it would somewhat not suitable for snow seasons. I was stuck like many others out on the streets, stranded with nowhere to go. Many car passed by, none were Hmong. Soon, a Hmong guy came along and noticed my situation. He said to me Brother, let me help you out, its cold and you need to get home. I was not expecting that. I was a complete stranger to him, same with him to me. However, that didnt stop him. My safety and well being was his priority. He got me out of the snow and watched me leave. I said my thanks and exchanged numbers. Before we said our byes, hed asked me if I needed any further assistance, I told him no and thanked him again. Soon after getting back on the road, I was stuck again lol. Just my luck. A Hmong family drove by and peeked out the window, drove passed me. They soon turned around and said, Brother, let me get you out of this snow and get you on your way home. I felt confused but blessed. Two complete strangers opened up their arms because they cared about a stranded Hmong fellow. I will never forget them.
