Just two seats shy of having an absolute majority (149 out of 300), Syriza is now reaching out to form a coalition. According to Reuters it has approached the Independent Greeks (ANEL), who are right-wing populists with some anti-austerity rhetoric. Its too early to fully comment on this, however, it would be unacceptable. There should be a serious attempt by SYRIZA to reach out to the Greek Communist Party (KKE), to form a SYRIZA-KKE left-workers government. It is also unfortunate that the KKE has adopted an extremely sectarian and hostile position in relation to SYRIZA. Together these two parties of the Greek Communist tradition (SYRIZA comes from a split from KKE) took 42% of the vote and would have 164 out of 300 seats! That would provide a strong basis for pursuing a radical socialist program. Jahan N. pointed out this video to me, an election advertisement of the Independent Greeks (ANEL), that clearly shows their attitude to Syriza and Alexis Tsipras: https://youtube/watch?x-yt-ts=1421914688&x-yt-cl=84503534&v=aPDo5MnwhOI
