Just wanna share an old movie starred by Adam Sandler ~ 50 FIRST DATES. I would not say that its a great movie but its definitely worth a watch! Funny, quirky and some touching moments.Many hilarious laugh out loud scenes and some very heartwarming moments that manage to be sweet without being overdone. Summary Henry(Adam Sandler)lives an enviable life in a Hawaiian paradise, spending every night with beautiful tourists in search of an island fling. Its a sweet life with no strings attached...until he meets Lucy(Drew Barrymore).He and Lucy hit it off from the get-go, but the next day she seems to have no recollection of him. Has his karma come around to kick him in the butt? Actually, Lucy has short-term memory loss so every night all memory of her day is erased. But a man in love will go to any lengths to win over the girl of his dreams, and if that means having to find imaginative ways of doing it over again every day... Barrymore’s character, Lucy supposedly has a form of amnesia called “Goldfield’s Syndrome.” is fictitious . However,in reality,there is really a condition called “Anterograde Amnesia” which pretty closely matches what was portrayed in the film. its typically caused when a person has some kind of brain damage, most often of the hippocampus region (a portion of the brain partially responsible for the storage of memory). Lucy has permanent brain damage due to a car accident. When people have this condition, they really are, essentially, “stuck in time.” Their brains are able to encode new memories and store those memories, but the memories are made inaccessible to that person. In other words, the person doesn’t realise that the existence of the newmemories. Hence, they will perpetually believe that it’s the day when the amnesia started, just like in the film. Anterograde amnesia is a very serious affliction that can result in major, permanent life changes for those suffering from the disorder. While some can be treated, some are irreversible...
