Just wanted to share this with you all, for no other reason than to hopefully encourage you. When I was 14 years old, I was living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I loovveedd fashion, but it was so hard to keep up with it being where I was, with Thai TV and dial up internet. I would get 100 baht ($3) a week pocket money, and save it up each month to buy a copy of Teen Vogue. One of the issues one month was a special on New York Fashion Week, I finished the issue cover to cover and prayed that one day I would have the opportunity to even just go to watch one show at NYFW. I told God that I didnt even care what show it was. At the beginning of this year, I felt God say to me that I would be going to New York in September. Didnt really think much of it... but then it hit me that Fashion Week is in September! In June I applied for annual leave at work for September, and it got rejected. So I just decided to forget about it and move on. About two weeks ago I woke up with this feeling that I really needed to be over there. I prayed God, if you want me over there in September. Have my contacts over there email me about it TODAY. ...I get to work, and guess who I got and email from :) So I contacted HR asking for annual leave again... They approved it straight away. Then it was just the flights... I didnt have the funds for flights as it was short notice and the flights are pricey around these times. I said God, youve helped me out this far... I know you can provide That Sunday I went to church, and someone said they wanted to give me a large amount of money towards my flights... He provided :) So now in 21 days, little Em is off to NYC to work at Fashion week. But the coolest thing is, Ill be going with an amazing organization called Models for Christ. They pray for people at the events, the shows and backstage, and see God do amazing things. Two of my biggest passions, Ministry and Fashion... mixed in one. Couldnt ask for anything better. So the point of this post is simply to encourage to just have faith in his promises. Hes put those dreams in your heart, and he will make sure those dreams flourish more than you could ever imagine. My prayer when I was 14 years old was simply just to watch one of the shows in New York. But he has bigger plans.. Just keep your gaze up and trust. x
