With the start of the New Year and recent legislation I would like to open up and initially fund a LGBTQ Counseling Center here in Great Falls. Its time. I envision it being 1 office with 1, 2 or 3 therapists who desire to work with this population. They can be licensed therapists or newly graduated. I and am willing to provide free supervision towards their licensing hrs. You can be cisgender and need not have to be a member of this population but you need to be accepting, culturally competent and available. Some therapists may only be there part time with their own separate practices. I am finding with LGBTQ clients that they want therapy for their own life problems, just like we all have and then are fearful and hesitant to see if the therapist will accept them and the fact that they are part of the LGBTQ population in our city. I am willing to put up seed money: 2-3 months of free rent in the Central Plaza building, 600 Central Ave. I am willing to help therapists set up their practice for the first time and letting them see how they can bill, schedule, market and have a successful practice. We as professional therapists of this town. We need to stand up and ourselves come out of the closet as far as wanting to treat this population. Too much of all of this has been underground and we need to step up to support our fellow citizens in a public way.
