Just wanted to take the opportunity to do an extended bio. I was actually born in southern California. I am one of six children. My family and I moved to Oklahoma in 1998 halfway through my freshmen year of high school after short stops in Derby, Kansas and Franklin, Tennessee. I graduated from Edmond North High School in 2001 as a valedictorian and National Merit Scholar and accepted a scholarship to attend the University of Oklahoma. I met my sweetheart, Stephanie Ward, at OU and we were married in 2006 just a few weeks before I started dental school. Stephanie grew up in Stigler and Poteau. I graduated from dental school in 2010 on an Air Force scholarship and my first assignment was at Eglin AFB on the panhandle of Florida. I spent a year there in a program called an Advanced Education in General Dentistry. This was a great opportunity. I was able to train one on one with all the dental specialists (orthodontist, oral surgeon, periodontist, endodontist, prosthodontist) and learn how to do specialty level care. It was in this program that I was trained to do orthodontics (braces), remove wisdom teeth, place implants, do all kinds of root canals, advanced cosmetic work like veneers, etc. I was also trained to do IV sedation, which less than 1% of general dentists are able to do. After that one year, there was an opening at home in Tinker so I took that and have been here the last three years. We now have four children: Luke (7), Lydia (4), Elyse (2) and Trevor (2 months). We moved to near 15th and Choctaw Road about a year and a half ago to be a part of the community in preparation for starting McLoud Family Dentistry. We have really liked everyone we have met from McLoud and surrounding areas and look forward to opening soon. We are opening October 13th and appointments are filling quickly.
