Just watched Resident Evil: Retribution... I find it interesting that it contained a bit of sign language. Milla Jovovich and the little girl. But I felt that the signing was, well, lacking. Also, I wasnt sure if they are using ASL format since there wasnt much of dialogue using signs (it is horror sci-fi film after all). It would be interesting if they have had bigger role for deaf person, signing a lengthy dialogue/discussion that has bigger impact on movie. Or if actors/actresses would have bothered to learn more and be accustomed to signing like speaking English fluently, to make it look like they have been doing it all their lives. I suppose I feel that they only put in short dialogue in signs because it was either that it looked cool to use or it was sort of like a token thing. Eh... just my random musing for the day.
